iPhone 7 / iPhone 7 plus The successor to the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus as flagship devices in the iPhone series. Prior to its announcement, many aspects of the iPhone 7 were gossiped about. Apple’s plan to remove the 3.5mm headphone jack received significant media attention. iPhone 7 has a shape and volume similar to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S. The iPhone 7 has a water- and dust-resistant rating of IP67, making it the first official waterproof iPhone, although tests have resulted in malfunctions, particularly the distorted speaker, after exposure to water. The warranty does not cover water damage.
iPhone 7 uses the Apple A10 Fusion 64-bit system-on-chip, which consists of two low-power cores and two high-power cores (only two cores are used at a time). The A10 chip is also equipped with a hexa-core graphics chip capable of “console-level gaming”. Like the previous model, the iPhone 7 is available in two sizes: one with a 4.7 inch (120 mm) screen, and the “Plus” variant with a 5.5 inch (140 mm) screen. The screen is identical in size and resolution to the iPhone 6S, but with a wider and enhanced color gamut. The screen-to-body ratios are around – 66% and – 68% for the 7 and 7 Plus, respectively.
iPhone 7 has a 12 megapixel rear camera with a quad-LED “True Tone” flash whose aperture is widened to f / 1.8, and standard-size phone models add optical image stabilization – a feature previously exclusive to Plus models. iPhone 7 Plus includes a second 12-megapixel telephoto lens, which can be used to achieve 2X optical zoom, and up to 10X digital zoom. However, telephoto cameras lack optical image stabilization. The front camera is upgraded to a 7 megapixel sensor with automatic image stabilization. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are the first iPhones that can record 1080p video using the front camera.
