Glossary Super AMOLED screen – definitions

“Super AMOLED” is a marketing term coined by Samsung for AMOLED screens with integrated touchscreen digitizers: the touch-detecting layer is integrated into the screen, not overlaid and cannot be separated from the screen itself. The display technology itself is not improved. According to Samsung, Super AMOLED reflects one-fifth of the sunlight as much as the first-generation AMOLED. Super AMOLED is part of the Pentile matrix family, sometimes abbreviated as sAMOLED.
